To photograph: it is to put on the same line of sight the head, the eye and the heart.
— Henri Cartier-Bresson

Alyssa Meadows (1989, United States) is an internationally-recognized artist from Kunkletown, Pennsylvania - she currently resides in New York City, working as an artist and activist worldwide. Driven by self-initiated personal projects & documentary work with unyielding dedication, she uses her photographic work to illuminate injustices & provocate new perspectives - her work is brave, bold, & quite often contentious. She frequently focuses on issues of intersectional feminism & environmental equality, as well as where & how they intersect, examining all aspects of our society & culture through a critical lens. She was a recipient of the Aaron Siskind Foundation’s IPF Grant in 2018, as well as an award winner in British Journal of Photography’s Edition365 (2021), & American Photography 41 (2025). Her work has been exhibited at some of the largest art fairs in the world, including PULSE Art Fair (Miami, FL), AIPAD (New York, NY), & Paris Photo.

She’s repeatedly joined forces with the nonprofit ForFreedoms, initially through their 50 State Initiative, the largest creative collaboration in U.S. history, where she documented artist-created billboards across the country. She revisited the collaboration for both the 2020 & 2024 presidential elections with their subsequent The 2020 Awakening & Where Do We Go From Here? campaigns. Her images have been featured in a variety of publications, including People, Forbes, The Guardian & Business Insider; clients over her career have included Netflix, British Airways, Discovery, & Marvel. Her work has also been recognized within the industry via Capture Mag, Der Greif, Pro Photo Daily, L’Œil de la Photographie & PDN.
